This has shown us the commitment and organization of this people, who can, without using any computer or technology, but with a system based on numbers assigned to each family to collect and deliver laundry at the various airlines of the metropolis without problems.

Tuesday, August 4th we left from Coimbatore, where we're still writing. Hindu boys at the airport greeted us by putting the
thilagam forehead. With them we arrived at Kumaraguru College Of Technology, a bustling campus traditional Indian style, built in 1984 by Dr. Mahalingam, and attended by students of different religions. The hospitality has been treated in detail, the highest expression of the Hindu belief according to which the guest is sacred. So it was written on the gift received upon arrival: "In the true Indian spirit we consider our guests an expression of the Divine Devo Bhava" We too are preparing to welcome all children who arrive in the coming days.
Elena: I am a gen as when I was born and I have always liked the ideas of Chiara.Mi feel lucky to have participated in the preparation of Supercongress since Rome. We worked on the program overall and I felt a great responsibility to this great event. I felt it was important to do my best at all times. Supercongress I think this is a unique opportunity in my life, to see the various cultures linked by a single ideal: the golden rule. There are 9
Gen3 Britain, we spoke to two of them about their experience.
They told us as we are prepared to come here in India and their expectations for the Supercongress.
Stuart : Many of us have had to do a fundraiser to be able to come here, but we knew that it was worth it and we went straight into the action.
We cooked and then sold to the public a typical Indian dish, held a sponsored bike ride and a number of bag-packing in supermarkets.
A woman from CAFOD is coming and has prepared us to encounter a culture so different from ours, for example, spoke the presence of slums or poverty that we find in some places, as well as the warm hospitality that we received.
Sam: It 's been like that, everyone was so welcoming, despite the difficulties in the heat or the language. However, both feel that the Supercongress will help us better understand the culture and eastern India ... we can not wait!
We interviewed Donatien France (17) who came here first to help in the preparation.
Donatien : I wanted to come to Supercongress not only because I've never been to one before but also because I felt that it would be just to see and live a different lifestyle and at the same time improve my English. Participate in the Focolare is a wonderful experience. At home in France, we have prepared a short DVD with the activities done by the Youth for Unity in the last two years that I brought with me as a gift to exchange experiences.
arrival I immediately noticed that the Gen Indians are very friendly. They have been so open with us from the beginning, teaching us that cricket is a very popular sport here, and they took us to visit Mumbai.

On Monday 3rd August, in January of the Mumbai helped us to break-even point and Understand Their cultures further, our first stop was the vast laundry of Mumbai (where over 5000 employees handwash clothes in separate open sinks.) This demonstrated the effort and commitment of a people driven organisation. As opposed to using computers or technologies, their system is based on numbers assigned to families; laundry is successfully collected and delivered around the city areas without any mistakes.
For Mass, we went to the Cathedral of the Holy Name, a church where Chiara herself had been. Near the Cathedral there is a small restaurant which was been attacked last November along with several hotels in Mumbai. There the Gen encouraged us to try the typical Indian dish of Chicken Tikka with green curry. Our tour concluded with a trip to the Gate of India and a stop in the busy station called Victoria Terminus, where we admired the Gothic style of the building.
Tuesday 4th August
We are now writing to you from Coimbatore, where we have all arrived. At the airport we received a traditional Hindu welcome from some Hindu youth – they put ‘ thilagam’ (the red dot) on each of our foreheads. With them we arrived at Kumaraguru College of Technology, a bustling campus built in the traditional Indian style in 1984 by Doctor Mahalingam, (the college is atteneded by students of all religions.) The hospitality was second none, everything including the smallest details were thought of: this is the expression of the Indian creed that the guest is sacred. That is what was written on the gift we received upon arrival at the airport: “ In the true Indian spirit we consider you our guest an expression of the Divine. Athiti devo bhava!” We too are preparing a warm welcome for all the youth who will be arriving over the next few days.
Elena : I have been a Gen since I was born and I have always liked Chiara’s ideas. I was lucky enough to be involved in the early preparations for this Supercongress already in Rome. We worked on the General programme and I felt a real responsibility towards the Supercongress in Rome. Therefore, I understood it was important to do my best in each moment. My expectations of the Supercongress are that it will be a unique moment in my life, to see so many different cultures united under one ideal – the Golden Rule;
There are 9 Gen 3 from Great Britain, we spoke to two of them about their experience in regards to the Supercongress. They told us how they had prepared for coming to India, and their expectations about the Supercongress.
Stuart : Many of us had to fundraise to be able to come to India. However, we knew that it would be worth the effort and therefore got straight to work. Some of our financial efforts included cooking and selling an Indian meal to the public, organising a sponsored bike ride, and finally numerous bag packs. Also, a women from Cafod came and gave us a useful talk on what to expect like the slums, poverty and the overwhelming hospitality we would receive.
Sam : yea, everyone has been so welcoming, despite difficulties such as the heat, or some difficulties with understanding everyone’s accent. However, we both feel that the Supercongress is going to help our understanding of Eastern and Indian life even better, and we can’t wait for the Supercongress now!

Stuart : Many of us were forced to gather money to come to India. But we knew it would be worth making efforts and we got straight to work. For example, we cooked and sold Indian dishes, organized a bike race sponsored and finally we have helped people to pack their shopping at the outlet supermarkets. Someone also came to speak to us to prepare us for what awaited us in India: the slums, poverty, and their warm hospitality.
Sat: Yeah, everyone was super friendly and despite the difficulties of heat or to understand our English with different accents. We feel that this Supercongress help us better understand life in the East and India in particular and we're really excited to begin this Supercongress! Now!

Donatien : I longed to participate in Supercongress, not only because I had never attended such an event that one before. I felt it would be great to see and experience a different lifestyle and to improve my English. To me, participate in a congress like this is a great and unforgettable experience. Young people in my unit could not come and that's why I carry with me in my heart. At home in France, we made a little video about all the actions we have done for 2 years. I wore it to know what we're here to create a real exchange. I noticed that the Indians are very hospitable and friendly. They were very open from the beginning, they taught us the rules of cricket, a sport is really popular here and they also helped us in our souvenir shopping in the heart of Mumbai. A
